Digital Transformation for Chain Stores: Integrated Smart Power Distribution Boxes + EIOT Platform—Mastering Energy Consumption Management Across All Locations!

Hardware Selection for the Solution

The complete solution consists of sensing-layer instruments and an IoT gateway (with an optional touchscreen). Key hardware includes the ADL400 multifunction energy meter, which measures comprehensive electrical parameters, supports multi-tariff billing, holds a pattern approval certificate for measuring instruments, and is designed for single-circuit energy metering.

The ADF400L multi-circuit energy meter enables centralized metering for multiple circuits and features built-in magnetic latching relays that support independent circuit switching control, making it ideal for monitoring power consumption across multiple circuits in retail store distribution boxes.

The AWT200 IoT gateway features 4G communication, supports data resumption after disconnection and high-capacity data point acquisition, and offers multi-protocol compatibility, enabling on-site equipment to connect to the cloud.

Optional: MCGS touchscreen for local HMI, allowing on-site monitoring of the power distribution cabinet's operating status at the store.

Representative Cases

01 Project Overview

A convenience store chain with a vast network of locations across the country faces high energy consumption at individual stores, necessitating centralized energy management at the group level. The project aims to establish a smart energy management platform to collect energy consumption data from stores nationwide; implement intelligent, scheduled control of storefront signage lighting to save energy; and identify high-consumption stores, pinpoint abnormal power usage, and uncover opportunities for energy conservation.

02 Project Implementation Details

  1. Energy Management Platform: Centralized collection of electricity usage data from stores nationwide, featuring map-based overviews, report exports, and comparative energy consumption analysis to enable group-level energy statistics. 2. Smart Signage Lighting Control Platform: Remote configuration of seasonal lighting schedules to automate signage illumination and reduce energy waste. 3. On-site Power Distribution Retrofit: Installation of smart metering devices within store distribution panels to monitor electricity consumption across various circuits, including lighting, freezers, air conditioning, and signage.

03 Project Value

✅Achieve unified digital management of electricity usage across all stores nationwide;

✅ Implement scheduled lighting controls for signage to reduce energy waste from unnecessary illumination;

✅ Quickly identify stores with abnormally high energy consumption to facilitate energy-saving retrofits;

✅ Reduce manual meter reading and lower O&M management costs.

Solution Summary

Acrel’s EIOT Smart Power Distribution Solution is designed to address the characteristics of chain retail outlets—specifically their large numbers and dispersed, small-scale nature—by utilizing integrated hardware-software prefabricated distribution cabinets that allow for lightweight retrofitting and rapid deployment. Leveraging a cloud-based platform, the solution enables hierarchical management, remote control, energy consumption analysis, and fault alerts, helping chain enterprises achieve the digital transformation of their power distribution systems and meet green, low-carbon, and ESG energy-saving goals.
