Eliminate "Blind" O&M: AGF Real-Time PV String Monitoring

Acrel’s AGF series intelligent PV combiner box monitoring units are specialized terminals designed for smart PV combiner boxes. Serving as core data acquisition devices for refined O&M in PV power plants, they resolve common pain points such as "blind" maintenance, slow fault localization, and a lack of data visibility.

Core Monitoring Functions

1. High-Precision String Measurement: Features built-in Hall sensors for electrically isolated measurement with Class 0.5 accuracy. It collects DC current for each string and DC bus voltage, supporting measurements up to DC 1000V; a built-in DC 1kV fuse ensures high-voltage system safety. It detects anomalies such as open circuits and low power generation efficiency.

2. Switching Status Acquisition: Includes three digital inputs to monitor combiner box surge protection device (SPD) failure and DC circuit breaker open/closed status in real-time. It also monitors internal enclosure temperature to identify potential equipment hazards early.

3. Multi-Sensor Expansion: Reserved analog interfaces allow for the connection of irradiance meters, temperature sensors, and wind speed sensors to simultaneously collect environmental data. Select models support relay contact outputs for linkage control applications.

Communication and Platform Integration

Comes standard with an RS485 communication interface supporting the Modbus-RTU protocol, with adjustable baud rates and strong compatibility. It integrates directly with Acrel’s PV monitoring systems and energy management cloud platforms, enabling remote data upload, centralized aggregation, and cloud-based viewing—thereby reducing the need for on-site inspections and lowering labor costs. An optional LCD local display module is available for on-site parameter checking and commissioning.

Operating Conditions and Power Supply

Features an IP65 protection rating and a wide operating temperature range, making it suitable for complex outdoor environments—including exposure to intense sunlight, rain, dust, and temperature extremes—as well as indoor installations. Supports multiple auxiliary power supply options (DC 24V, AC/DC 220V, DC 1000V) to accommodate diverse power supply scenarios. Application Scenarios

Suitable for residential distributed PV, commercial and industrial rooftop PV, large-scale ground-mounted PV, and agro-PV or fishery-PV hybrid power plants. It can be used for both new installations and the intelligent retrofitting of existing combiner boxes, enabling visibility, measurement, and control of individual PV strings to enhance the plant's overall power generation revenue.
